Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Little Lights. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.
Who may use Little Lights
Little Lights is designed for families to use together under a parent or guardian's direction. A parent or guardian who is at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement must create and manage the account and subscription. Children may view parent-selected lessons and participate in learning activities with that adult's supervision; they may not create accounts or submit personal information independently.
The service
Little Lights lets you create, edit, organize, and print your own homeschool plans for free. An optional AI subscription generates customizable planning material based on the schedule, learner information, and topics you provide. Features and generated results may change as the service improves.
Free planning, AI subscription, and cancellation
Manual planning, editing, teaching history, and printing are free and do not require a payment card. AI generation, revisions, and suggestions require an active AI trial, subscription, or complimentary access.
A card is required to start the optional 14-day AI free trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the AI subscription automatically renews at $8.90 per month until canceled. Returning subscribers do not receive another free trial. You may cancel through the billing controls in your account. After paid access ends, your saved plans remain available to view, edit, teach, and print, and you can continue planning manually. Cancellation stops future renewals; any refund rights required by law still apply.
Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate account and billing information and keep access to your email secure.
- Review every generated lesson before use and adapt it for your children, home, and circumstances.
- Provide appropriate adult supervision, especially for food, tools, heat, small objects, physical activity, field trips, and other safety considerations.
- Do not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, or use automated requests in a way that creates unreasonable load or cost.
Educational and AI disclaimer
Generated plans may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for a particular learner. Little Lights is a planning aid, not an accredited school, teacher, medical provider, therapist, legal adviser, or substitute for your judgment. You are responsible for curriculum choices, legal homeschool requirements, safety, and the final material you use.
Content and license
You retain your rights in information you submit. Subject to these terms, Little Lights grants you a personal, non-exclusive license to use and adapt generated plans for your household. The Little Lights name, branding, software, and site content remain protected and may not be copied or resold as a competing service.
Availability and account action
We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service. We may restrict or close an account that violates these terms, threatens users or the service, or creates fraudulent or abusive usage. You may stop using Little Lights at any time.
Disclaimers and liability
Little Lights is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise uninterrupted service or error-free generated content. To the extent permitted by law, Little Lights is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that cannot legally be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms as Little Lights changes. Material changes will be communicated reasonably, and continued use after the effective date means the updated terms apply.
